I turned this piece from a pine log during a David Ellsworth class I attended, sponsored by the Northeastern Oklahoma Woodturners Association. I shaped the rim to eliminate some discoloration along the edge of the bowl and to give it a more contemporary shape. I also sandblasted the surface to highlight the differences between the softer, summer growth rings and the harder, winter growth rings.
